What has cinema done with the Lord of the Rings?

For 30 years the Lord of the Rings was a mystic and secret thing only openening his secret to readers. A lot of fans worked very quickly thru this hundreds of pages of the story. the absolut culmination reached the Lord of the Rings with it's presentation on the silver screen. It was a tremendous success! Numberless poeple runned into the cinema to see a very 'realistic' presentation of the secrets ( only created in your mind before with your own great phantasy).
But after this success the books of the Lord of the Rings seems to be closed - the secrets have been presented to the whole public audience. The magic, the glamour seems to be gone.

With unbelievable great effort the Stories were brought to cinema to the public audience. But after a while the Stories loose the public interest they had before.

Ther was a pop song :

Video killed the radio star

i must sing :

Cinema kills our secret valuable stories ...

created for the hidden beauty of our phantasy.

What will we do if all stories have been put ont the Silver Screen?
What will last?
An emptyness - darkness?

New Oracle packaged mini Triggers with Oracle 10G R2

You will not believe it!
Oracle has due to hundred of thousands metalink support requests released a new Trigger API called mini trigger.
These Triggers are specialized for code segments less then 100 rows. Oracle automatic generates a strord library with native code supporting the fast execution of the mini triggers. Specially in extreme grid environment the advanteges are clear. Shared Pool is saved and so contention too. Larry Ellision was very proud of this core Feature so the next Oracle release will be called

Oracle 11mt
mt like MiniTrigger !

Thats all folks - it's always very important to stay on the news.

Avoiding nuclear power plant with TFT Technology

Yesterday I a met a neighbor and talked with him about his job. He is working at Merck in Darmstadt Germany in the research department for fluid crystal technology used by TFT Displays. Almost 75% for of the world amount of fluid crystals is supplied by Merck.

TFT’s due to their power saving technology use much less power then analogue displays. In Japan the government raised a project to replace all monitors with TFT’s. This would save 2.5 atomic power plants!

Steffies Hamburger Recipe

I am a really fan of fast food. Best qualitiy in fast food you will always find at home.
And best recipes you found by your neighbours. Last week Steffi a neighbour of mine
created 40 Hamburgers for a childrens birthday party. I tasted one and was very excited!

The greate thing for this recipe is that the Hamburgers are very soft and have
a very good taste. You can eat them in standalone mode too - no problem.

Here the recipe :

  • 500g hamburger meat (100% beef if possible, or 50/50 beef/pork)
  • 1 Egg (from happy chickens)
  • 2 Sandwiches soaked in Water
  • 1 onion hoeded
  • 2 soupspoon mustard
  • 2 tea spoon salt
  • 1/2 tea spoon pepper
  • 1 tea spoon paprika
  • 3 tea spoon marjoram
  • optional Tomatoe Ketchup (from Heinz )

This is one Instanciation of Steffies wunderfull hamburger Recipe!

Installing Oracle 9iR2 on Suse Linux 9.2 ...

Installing Oracle 9iR2 on Suse Linux 9.2 is a very interesting thing. The installer requires GCC version 2.x. The java runtime comming from oracle is buggy, ... .

One colleague told me to start with SuSE 8.x - install Oracle 9.2 and upgrade then to SuSE 9.2;
i do not like this, it's too time consuming ;-) .
It must work directly - and it did!

Look at this link : http://ivan.kartik.sk/oracle/install_ora9_suse.html

Thanks Ivan!! - Great Work!

Nachtigall, ick hör´ dir trabsen

Hello,
the title line covers a 'german' phrase even not understandable by many germans .
But i like it, seems that i understand it. It's a phrase of berliner slang. It say that you have recognized that something is going wrong bedind the curtain.

For me this is a great challenge to understand english based phrases.
But some are easy to understand :

to be or not to be that's the question

But phrasing is a good thing - it's picture based talking.

Oracle Installer shows a lot of messages of missing components installing Oracle 10G on Suse 9.2

Hi
yesterday i prepared a VMWare Image with Suse Linux 9.2. - I intended to install Oracle 10g in this virtual machine. But as the installer started - he told me :

  • that gcc has not the right version
  • some rpm packages are missing
  • shared memory parameter are not set correctly
i remember in past that Suse Linux was well prepared to install Oracle on it. Not with Suse 9.2 Professional.

A friend of mine having had the same problems told me about a helpfull link :

http://www.puschitz.com/InstallingOracle10gOnSUSE.shtml

So i think i will continue and be successfull!
